<p>Ya teníamos una estimación del coste de volver a desarrollar la versión 2.6 del Kernel para Linux por parte de Ingo Molnar, cercana a los $176M (<span style="font-weight:bold;">141 Millones de Euros</span>), pero ahora, con más información y un estudio más detallado, <a href="http://www.dwheeler.com/essays/linux-kernel-cost.html">David A. Wheeler ha calculado que ese coste llegaría sin problemas a $612M</a> (<span style="font-weight:bold;">490 Millones de Euros</span>). Todo a raíz de un tipo que ofreció $50k (<span style="font-weight:bold;">40 Mil Euros</span>) para que se cambiara la licencia GPL de Linux por una más permisiva del tipo BSD. Podemos ver las cuentas de David Wheeler:</p>

<p>Aparte de que las cifras sean más o menos mareantes, maravilla el posible (y muy elevado) coste de desarrollar <span style="font-weight:bold;">Software Libre</span>. ¿Qué os parece?</p>
