da14db8 Tim Landscheidt 14 August 2015, 17:29:18 UTC ldap: Update ldaplist to new hosts structure The LDAP attributes of instances have changed over time which broke "ldaplist -l hosts" causing it to return nothing because the attributes "cn" and "iphost" no longer exist. Extension:OpenStackManager's nova/OpenStackNovaHost.php adds the three attributes "dcobject", "dnsdomain" and "domainrelatedobject" to all hosts, and the choice of "domainrelatedobject" for this change is arbitrary. The same applies to the choice of "associatedDomain" vs. "dc" for the standard search attribute. "dc" would only allow to search for "$host.$project.eqiad.wmflabs", while "associatedDomain" allows "$host.eqiad.wmflabs" and the EC2 names as well. As a side-effect, it returns the entries for DNS ("ldaplist -l hosts tools-beta.wmflabs.org"), too. The stated purpose of the script is to "implement the functionality of Solaris's ldaplist". Unfortunately I do not know the latter's behaviour regarding the hosts database, but this change covers my use case of quickly looking at a host's Puppet classes and variables. At the moment only very basic metrics are collected: * cpu and memory usage % * number of threads * unix timestamp of process creation * system/user seconds the kernel has used for this service Note that in this context a 'service' is a collection of processes, a process tree in the upstart case and a cgroup for systemd. Apply a Logstash filter to attempt to normalize this naming for some of the more common input types. a48d2eb Marcel Ruiz Forns 11 August 2015, 18:13:49 UTC Change percentage in EventLogging validation alert To avoid false positives for eventlogging_difference_raw_validated, this change raises the number of data points over the threshold needed to trigger the alert from 3/15 to 4/15. It also adds the modifier 'absolute' to the alarm's metric, to also raise alerts in the unlikely case the number of valid events is significantly higher than the number of raw events.
