Do no pass -pthread to CINT which will use the -p part and use the external preprocessor unintentionally

Environment variables
=====================

Define the variable ROOTSYS pointing to the directory where you unpacked
the ROOT distribution:

   export ROOTSYS=<pathname>/root (in bash or ksh)
   setenv ROOTSYS <pathname>/root (in csh or tcsh)

Add ROOTSYS/bin to your PATH:

   export PATH=$PATH:$ROOTSYS/bin (in bash or ksh)
   set path=($path $ROOTSYS/bin) (in csh or tcsh)

On systems using shared libraries you must specify the load path
before you can run the root module. NOTE: with version 2.00 this
is not necessary anymore since the front-end program sets the
load path correctly.

On HP-UX do:

   export SHLIB_PATH=$SHLIB_PATH:$ROOTSYS/lib (in bash or ksh)
   setenv SHLIB_PATH ${SHLIB_PATH}:${ROOTSYS}/lib (in csh or tcsh)

On Solaris, Linux, SGI, Alpha/OSF do:

   export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:$ROOTSYS/lib

On MacOS X do:

   export DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH=$DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH:$ROOTSYS/lib

On AIX do:

   [ -z "$LIBPATH" ] && export LIBPATH=/lib:/usr/lib
   export LIBPATH=$LIBPATH:$ROOTSYS/lib

To have access to the man pages add ROOTSYS/man to you MANPATH:

   export MANPATH=$MANPATH:$ROOTSYS/man (in bash or ksh)
   setenv MANPATH $MANPATH:$ROOTSYS/man (in csh or tcsh)

Running interactive ROOT and the tutorial macros
================================================

To run the example macros, go to the root/tutorials directory and do, e.g.:

$ root
root [0] .x benchmarks.C
  -- this will run all tutorials and will benchmark your machine.
  -- For a rating of your machine check:
  -- http://root.cern.ch/root/html/examples/benchmarks_v100.html.
  -- If your machine is not in the list please mail the results to:
  -- rootdev@root.cern.ch.
root [1] .x demos.C
  -- Click on any button you like to run the corresponding tutorial.
  -- Move the objects on the canvas around using the mouse.
root [2] .q

Compiling and running ROOT test programs
========================================

To run some ROOT test programs, go to the root/test directory and do
(after having selected the machine dependent flags in the Makefile):

$ make
$ ./Event
$ ./hsimple
$ ./minexam
$ ./tcollex
$ ./tstring
